UW Marching Band Pregame Run-On

Here's a look at a marching style that's totally different from the style we use at Nashua High School North. It's a physically demanding, "stop at the top" style used by the University of Wisconsin Marching Band. Each step is exactly 22.5 inches, making for eight steps every five yards.

This clip shows the "Run-On," their pregame entrance, using the exact same marching step. But in double-time. And after all that running, everyone has to play—loud!

Where do they get that kind of stamina? From intense physical conditioning during their version of band camp (affectionately known as "Hell Week").

Enjoy!
